Map Products

Custom folding maps are GISCARTO’s most popular product.  Folding custom maps can help promote your area, your name or your organization.  Folding maps are the most cost efficient way to disseminate your information, in print, to large amount of people.  Custom folding maps include personalized covers and any copy and/or photo’s you might want to add to the map.

Most folding maps are built at a 1″= 1 mile scale with enlarged insets on reverse side.  The insets are window boxed and numbered for easy reference.  Overlays can be added such as bike trails, section/township and range, police/fire districts or zones and anything else that might be in your data.

The custom folding map shown is of Gallia County Ohio and was produced for the Gallia County, Ohio Engineer.

This map was created from Gallia County GIS data and placed into a geodatabase.  From this geodatabase GISCARTO produced  folding maps and wall maps.  GISCARTO also provided back to Gallia County Engineer the cartographically styled geodatabase.

Atlases are designed at a larger scale than folding maps and are easy to read.   Most atlases produced today are for Emergency Responders because of quick reference and the large scale.  The books are wire-o bound for longevity and that you can open to one page only.  Each page is numbered and gridded for easy reference using the index.   The index  is structured to include street name with block number, map page number and grid coordinates.  The index also can show what municipality each street is in, which is very important for emergency response.  Pages have a small overlap so that you can follow a road from page to page, both north/south and east/west.  Atlases include a table of contents, index pages, legend with symbols icons and area shading colors.  The books include a tutorial on how to find a street quickly and easily.   Small print runs are possible because of new printing technology.

The atlas show here was produced for the Tehama County California Sheriff and Cal Fire.  The book has been published twice with an update.  Pages were added on the second printing to further enhance the book for emergency responders.

Wall maps are usually an enlargement of the folding map image to provide a larger overview of a county.  Maximum size is 60″ inches in one dimension.  So the wall maps can be anywhere from 42″ x 60″ to 60″ x 85″.  Price is based on image size.  The wall maps are laminated so that dry erase markers can be used on them and for longevity.  Wall maps can also include rails or grommets for easy hanging.  Wall maps can be sized to fit existing frames.  Wall maps are printed with UV resistant ink so they don’t fade.

The wall map shown was originally produced for Carroll County Ohio Engineer.  However over 20 other wall maps were printed for other government agencies within Carroll County.

GISCARTO can also provide back the finished cartographically styled geodatabase as an .mxd file along with copyright of the map.
This file will contain all elements or layers of the map. The map will be one contiguous file of the entire area.
Client will be able to set-up and print map for future use.

Zoomify is for displaying the final map image on the web.  It’s a great way to enhance your website. Viewers will be able to pan in/out of the map.  Increase map to full screen and back.  Zoomify is quick and does not need special programs to run.  Viewer will be able to take screenshots but not be able to replicate or reprint the map.
